Ten-year-old Charlie Wang must return the Jade Emperor’s beloved riceball fairy by Lunar New Year, or an ancient monster, Nian, will reawaken to destroy humanity. With the help of a young junkyard keeper, Charlie embarks on a daring journey where he encounters a primordial creature, a lonely river spirit and three spiteful Chinese zodiac guardians who will do anything to stop him and see humanity fade.

On this mission of impossible odds, Charlie is tested every step of the way as he learns that being brave and selfless are choices he makes.
